Thyroid conditions

Thyroid medication is usually taken on an empty stomach with a gap before breakfast; calcium and iron supplements can affect absorption. We fit these timings into your day.

Do I need to go gluten-free?

Unless coeliac disease is present, there is not enough evidence to recommend a gluten-free diet for Hashimoto's in general. Unnecessary restrictions make eating harder; we decide together with your doctor.

Who is it for?

  • People with hypothyroidism or Hashimoto\'s on medication
  • Those who want to fit thyroid medication around breakfast
  • Anyone unsure about restrictive diets they read online

How does the process run?

Measure
TSH, fT4 and other tests requested by your doctor; medication time and meal pattern.
Plan
Gap between medication and breakfast, iodised salt, fish, dairy; removing unnecessary restrictions.
