Insulin resistance

Insulin resistance means cells respond less to insulin and the pancreas releases more. It is followed with values such as fasting insulin and HOMA-IR, but these have no universal cut-off and no decision is made on a single test.

What we focus on

Regular meal intervals, legumes, bulgur and whole grains in place of refined carbohydrates, protein at every meal, fewer late-night meals and daily movement. Sleep is part of the plan.

Who is it for?

  • Adults whose doctor found signs associated with insulin resistance
  • People with a growing waistline, afternoon hunger and fatigue
  • Those with type 2 diabetes in the family who want to act early

How does the process run?

Measure
Fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HbA1c and lipids; waist circumference and body composition.
Plan
Meal intervals, fibre-protein balance on the plate, snack decisions.
Review
Every three to four weeks; body composition and daily logs.
